Bay Standard Manufacturing, Inc. A California Corporation

Founded in 1959, with our initial operation in Concord, Bay Standard Manufacturing Inc. (BSMI) started producing roof racks and bumper assemblies for Volkswagen. Demand was high, business was strong, and the company quickly outgrew the facilities in Concord. Looking to expand, the company purchased 13 acres in the agricultural community of Brentwood. By 1968, the new manufacturing plant on Marsh Creek Road was in operation. From this location in Brentwood, BSMI continues to flourish.

Shortly after the move, Volkswagen decided to shift the products BSMI was producing offshore. The company quickly made the decision to retool the factory for the production of All Thread Rod and Anchor Bolts. Before long, the plant was again running at near full capacity.

With the desire to get BSMI’s manufactured products closer to customers in the Western United States, the decision was made to open distribution and service locations in the West. Over the years our reach has expanded with facilities in Brentwood CA, Stockton, CA, Ontario, CA, Tigard, OR, Phoenix AZ, and Salt Lake City, UT.
