From November 5 to 8, 2024, the 17th Moscow International Tool, Equipment, and Technology Exhibition (MITEX), the largest professional event in the tool market across Russia and the CIS, took place at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow.

The exhibition spanned an impressive 51,000 square meters across nine halls of the Expocentre. Over 900 companies from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Turkey, Italy, India, Kazakhstan, and China showcased Advanced Tool Innovations. For the second consecutive year, the event featured a large-scale national pavilion from China – the MITEX CHINA expo.

This year, 14 themed sections were organized, where participants demonstrated the latest in power tools, welding equipment, hand tools, gardening and construction machinery, and much more. A record-breaking number of over 26,000 visitors had the opportunity to explore and test the tools.

So, at the premium gardening equipment pavilion by CAIMAN, visitors tested a battery-powered blower capable of running autonomously for 1.5 hours under intensive use and a lightweight gasoline trimmer weighing just 4.7 kg. At the INTERSKOL booth, attendees could try sawing a log with a chainsaw. Other notable brands included ELITECH, BYCON, Fiolent Plant, STAVR, KOLNER, PATRIOT, HANSKONNER, Aurora Group, ZUBR, STURM, ERMENRICH, TD PRIDE, Maitol Rus, and many others.

Strong International Presence at MITEX 2024

This year, the participation of Indian companies at MITEX 2024 was a highlight, reflecting their growing role in the global tool and equipment market. Key participants included JCBL India, Namdev Forge, Bawa Industries, Eastman Hand Tools, Ultra Tools, Miles Incorporation, and Jhalani Impex, who showcased a wide range of innovative and high-quality tools. For Indian manufacturers, as well as for other Asian and Turkish companies, the Russian market remains a strategic priority due to its size, growth potential, and demand for diverse industrial and consumer tools. Taiwanese companies also increased their presence significantly this year, underlining their expanding influence with a diverse array of advanced products. Furthermore, several Turkish companies, including Promast and Hassan, had prominent stands, presenting cutting-edge tools and technologies that attracted considerable attention from industry professionals and visitors alike.

A Packed Business Program

For the first time, MITEX 2024 hosted its extensive business program across four venues: MITEX Arena, MITEX.DIY, MITEX Park, and the MITEX China Forum. The program featured 20 themed sessions, 18 masterclasses, and 74 speakers.

MITEX Arena was the central hub for business discussions, hosting events that consistently drew full houses. A standout was the plenary session, "Potential and Development Prospects for the Tool Industry in 2024," featuring the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the RATPE Association, and other experts. The session "Power Tools on Marketplaces: Challenges and Growth Opportunities" brought together Russian e-commerce leaders like Ozon, Yandex.Market, and Megamarket. On the second day, MITEX Arena welcomed top gardening tool market experts who shared industry trends, growth rates, and sales forecasts. The RATPE Association also held a conference evaluating the state of the power tool and small machinery markets and the prospects for revitalizing the sector. Other topics included the welding equipment market, tool industry potential, product assortment development, and effective marketing strategies.

Spotlight on Chinese Manufacturers and Interactive Zones

For the first time, Chinese manufacturers not only exhibited products and innovations at their stands but also held presentations at the new MITEX China Forum. A notable session, "Payments to China: Solving the Key Issue Here and Now," featured solutions from Alpha Bank, the forum's headliner and business partner. Discussions included prospects for Russian-Chinese joint ventures, logistics, and advertising strategies.

The interactive MITEX Park landscape zone, launched this year, became a visitor favorite. Topiary professionals conducted masterclasses, transforming ordinary thuja trees into geometric shapes and even animals. Vladimir Lyaptchev, a specialist in artistic plant shaping, demonstrated unique tree designs, while Alexey Filin from Moscow State University's Botanical Garden held a workshop on French-style tree trimming.

For DIY enthusiasts, the MITEX.DIY area hosted 20 masterclasses led by five experts, teaching attendees to craft furniture and household items. Under the guidance of popular DIY bloggers, visitors learned to create chopsticks and tufted ottomans. Master woodworkers shared tips on working with tools like non-inertial mallets and diamond crowns. The highlight was an exclusive workshop by Mikhail Kuchuk (Heartwood) and Alexander CHESTER, showcasing their collaborative craftsmanship.

The Business Procurement Platform and Major Deals

A new feature this year was the Procurement Center Platform, offering a comprehensive program for preparing and securing contracts and organizing in-person negotiations. Tool manufacturers were able to secure agreements with major strategic buyers such as Tvoy Dom, Wildberries, Lemana Pro, Ozon Global, and Vseinstrumenty.ru. An impressive 80% of negotiations concluded successfully, with preliminary agreements worth over 4.5 billion rubles. Chinese manufacturers and suppliers set records for the number of meetings held.

Celebrating Milestones and Looking Ahead

MITEX’s general sponsor, CAIMAN, marked its 20th anniversary by hosting a photo exhibition titled "Professionals: From Dream to Success," showcasing portraits of dedicated professionals, including greenskeepers, arborists, farmers, landscape architects, and agronomists. Each photo told a story of triumph, with the company emphasizing the importance of quality tools for achieving great results.

"We are delighted that so many companies trust MITEX year after year and choose our platform to present their equipment. For 17 years, leaders in the tool market have gathered here to solve business challenges and establish professional connections. This year was significant for us: we launched a large-scale landscape zone and expanded our partner geography. We hope participation in the exhibition becomes a foundation for reliable growth," said Gulnara Markelova, MITEX Director.

The MITEX team sincerely thanks all exhibitors, partners, and visitors for contributing to the success of MITEX 2024. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and welcoming you to the next MITEX exhibition in 2025!
