The Industrial Fasteners Institute (IFI) has released the 12th edition of its Book of Fastener Standards, now available for purchase. This comprehensive guide includes 96 key fastener standards, with 30 newly updated. A new addition, IFI 171, focuses on thread dimensions for bolts, studs, and nuts in steel construction.

First published in 1941, this resource has supported fastener standardization for over 80 years, and is widely used by designers, engineers, and managers in industries that require mechanical fasteners. According to IFI Director of Engineering and Technology, Salim Brahimi, the book combines commonly used standards from ASTM, ASME, SAE, and IFI, saving companies over $3,000 compared to buying the standards separately.

The 12th edition is priced at $675 and can be ordered through the IFI website. Additionally, the IFI offers the Technology Connection, an online tool that generates specifications based on the latest standards, along with educational programs.
